Materials needed:

Box wooden blank

Very fine sandpaper

Light Blue acrylic paint

Paint brush

Dolphin pictures

Fine point / Decoupage scissors

Satin modge podge

Sponge applicator/brush

Hard Roller

Light blue felt

Method:

  1. Using the sandpaper, lightly sand all over the box and lid to remove any strains or dirt.
  2. Paint the box with the acrylic paint until the desired colour is received.
  3. Cut out the dolphin pictures.
  4. Glue the pictures in place with a thin layer of modge podge using the sponge brush.
  5. Use the roller to flatten the picture and remove all air bubbles. Start in the middle of the picture and make towards the edge. Take care not to tear the picture.
  6. Cover the box with a layer of modge podge and wait for it to dry. Repeat four more times.
  7. Lightly sand the box.
  8. Cover the box with a layer of modge podge and wait for it to dry.
  9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until you are satisfied with the smoothness of the surface.
  10. Stick a piece of felt to the bottom of the box.
